	Title: The Best Laid Plans Notes: Submitted to gwyaoi's 2003 1x2 AU novella challenge. Inspired by the guy at the Whole Foods Market. Summary: Heero. Duo. AU. Slow development of relationship. (i don't write anything else, do i?) Grocery shopping. 'Nuff said. Or, if it's not, I think this is its official tag line: Heero Yuy had resigned himself to being a grump for the rest of his life, and he was well on his way, too, until he met one Duo Maxwell, who somehow managed to turn all his notions upside-down. Pairing: the limit of f(t) = 1/t + (1x2) as t approaches infinity. That is to say, it asymptotically approaches (1x2). Which actually makes a beautiful sort of sense, since it has to go through (1+2) first... and you notice that f(t) never even gets close to zero, too, which means that there will never be nothing between them... and if we take t to be the time domain, where t > 0, then f(t) will always be positive... ::blinkblink:: I can't believe I just said that. just wanted to say that this has been one of the better fictions i've come across. i really appreciated the personalities of the characters you formed in this piece, as well as bringing them as close to what i would have expected the actually characters to be like in such given settings. the witty bantering and the relationships depicted through verbal sparring made this fic its own story. really well done. thanks.

Thanks bunches! Glad to hear you enjoyed the fic. It's kind of funny that I think this fic has the most complete backstories for the characters out of what I've written, all to explain how or why they are the way that they are, but I think I've actually only mentioned a small fraction of what's there.

Finally decided to try out the novellas at Sharon's website. :D This is really a lovely read. I really love how Heero and Duo's friendship slowly evolved into something more. I also love meddling!Quatre and his brief interaction scenes with Trowa and Heero. I was really wondering when Wufei would pop up and before I knew it Heero and Duo have found some semblance of a sort-of interested-in-you kind of relationship. ♥ Anyway, thank you for sharing this.

Hey there, glad to hear it! I have a particular fondness for detailing how they make that transition from knowing to liking to loving. ^_^ Don't know if you noticed, or if Sharon went (even more) above and beyond the call of duty at her archive, but there is a part 2, 3 and 4 to this novella, following their relationship through graduation. (alas, wufei makes only a brief appearance.) I don't think any of the following ones are as tight as the first part, but you can judge for yourself, if you're so inclined. You can find a link to the first sequel, Gang Aft Agley, in the original post of this thread.
